The top of the range. The SE series is Spider Farmer's most recent generation, and the SE7000 is its largest format: a production lamp designed to cover 5' × 5' in vegetative growth or 4' × 4' in flowering.

Why two coverage figures: it isn't a contradiction but the physiological reality of every grow light. A plant making leaves gets by on far less light than a plant filling fruit or flowers. The same lamp therefore covers wider in veg and tightens as soon as you ask for production. Serious manufacturers publish both figures; the ones that publish only one always publish the flattering one.

What's inside: Samsung LM301H EVO diodes, the latest generation of Samsung's white series, more efficient than the LM301B and enriched in the blue-violet region of the spectrum, with a Meanwell power supply. It's the combination growers look for when they count their kilowatt-hours: in an installation running eighteen hours a day for months, a few percent of efficiency translates directly into dollars, and the driver is the part whose failure stops everything.

To plan for: at this level the lamp is no longer anything but one element of a system. Ventilation, extraction, humidity control and electrical circuit capacity become decisions to make before the purchase, not after.

• New generation: Samsung LM301H EVO diodes and Meanwell power supply.
• Covers 5' × 5' in veg or 4' × 4' in flower.
• Suited for: a 150 × 150 cm tent in veg, 120 × 120 cm in flower, continuous production.
• At this power, plan ventilation, humidity and electrical circuit as part of the system.
