Hello, everyone! June is only a few days away, and it is one of the most enjoyable months for gardening in Quebec. Wondering what you can plant right now? Here are a few ideas to help you
Summer vegetables
This is the ideal time to plant squash, zucchini, cucumbers, beans, peas, peppers, and tomatoes. These plants love warmth, so make sure you plant them after all risk of frost has passed.
Annual flowers
Cosmos, zinnias, sunflowers, wildflowers, and many others can still be planted in June. They will add colour to your garden all summer and provide food for our pollinator friends.
Leafy vegetables
Vegetables such as spinach, lettuce, and cabbage can be sown in succession throughout the month for a continuous harvest.
Fall crops
It is not too early to start thinking about fall. Brussels sprouts, broccoli, and cauliflower can be planted now for a fall harvest.
Remember, gardening is not only about the harvest; it is also about joy, discovery, and connecting with nature. So get outside and plant something, no matter how much space you have. Happy gardening!
